Skull-cap of St. Ubald of Gubbio

St. Ubald was bishop of Gubbio Italy until 1160, the year of his death. He became famous during his lifetime for his mildness and patience. Many miracles were granted to the people who flocked to his funeral. He was canonized 30 years later.

2 years after his canonization, his body was exhumed, and in 1960 the last official examination of his body took place. Only minor corrusion of the body has taken place, and his body is exposed under the main altar of the chapel at Monte Ingino, Italy.
